Week 12 Start or Sit: Jerry Jeudy

Ciaran Doyle analyzes Browns WR Jerry Jeudy’s fantasy appeal for Browns vs. Steelers on Thursday Night Football of Week 12.

Jameis Winston starting at quarterback for the Cleveland Browns over the last three weeks has changed Jerry Jeudy’s outlook in fantasy football. He is coming off his best game of the season, in which he recorded six catches for 142 yards and a touchdown. His day was highlighted by an 89-yard touchdown catch. Three of Jeudy’s top four weeks in fantasy scoring have been with Winston under center, and he is averaging 17.8 FPTS per game since the change at quarterback. So should you start or sit Jeudy in Week 12 against the Steelers?

Despite this being a tough matchup for Browns receivers, I think Jeudy should be considered a starter in Week 12. The Steelers are the 8th best defense against opposing wide receivers in DraftKings fantasy scoring, but Jeudy has too much upside to sit on the bench this week.

Jameis Winston is, has been, and always will be a gunslinger. In the three games that he’s started for the Dawg Pound this season, he has at least 41 pass attempts, 26 completions and 235 yards in each game. Winston has thrown six touchdowns to only three picks over that time. The Browns haven’t been good, but this is a pass-happy team that has plenty of targets to go around. Jeudy is averaging 10 targets per game, six catches and 98 yards with Winston under center. Regardless of the matchup, he is worth starting right now with that kind of volume.
