A pole vaulter walks away empty-handed because his pole has stopped working… no, not the one he uses to jump with, but the one barely contained by his tights.

Antonio Ammirati — a prominent French pole vaulter — had his first heat on Saturday morning… and, although he expected to flip the bar and land in the final, he ended up catching his smaller pole on the crossbar.
