PC police investigate Monday morning shooting at Vibez nightclub

PANAMA CITY — Local law enforcement officials are investigating a Monday morning shooting at Vibez.

According to a press release from the Panama City Police Department, the incident occurred outside the nightclub at about 4 am, “following multiple 911 calls from concerned citizens.”

The Panama City Police Department is investigating a Monday morning shooting that happened at Vibez nightclub.

“Responding officers discovered several shell casings in the parking lot near the entrance,” the release reads. “An investigation into the incident revealed that the artist known as Malie Donn had concluded a scheduled performance and was observed exiting the building through a rear entrance.

“Upon entering the parking lot, Malie Donn was seen being escorted by two unknown men wearing masks and armed with AK-47-style rifles.”

The release notes that witnesses saw one of the masked men shoot a rifle multiple times into the air. He, the other masked man and Donn then got into a car and fled the scene.

No injuries were reported at the time of the release.

“We take incidents involving firearms very seriously and are committed to ensuring the safety of our community,” Chief Mark Smith of the Panama City Police Department said in the release. “We urge anyone with information to come forward and assist us in our investigation.”
