Justin Timberlake’s license suspended after DUI hearing, judge threatens gag order

Justin TimberlakeHe’s going to have to stay off the road for the foreseeable future, because a New York judge just suspended his driver’s license during a hearing.

The singer-songwriter, who appeared virtually from Belgium on Friday, had his driving privileges temporarily revoked — with the judge citing the fact that he refused a breathalyzer test when police pulled him over in June.

It’s unclear exactly how long the suspension will remain in effect, likely until the case is resolved. It’s worth noting that this is standard operating procedure in New York: the law requires the DMV to suspend the driver’s license of a driver who refuses to submit to a breathalyzer test for up to one year. So… this was coming.

Police say they asked Justin to get out of the car and take a series of sobriety tests… all of which, they say, Timberlake completely failed. They arrested him for a DWI charge.

We obtained video showing Timberlake’s car was driving on the night in question… although on surveillance video it didn’t appear to swerve much.

Timberlake was arraigned and released the next morning… and his attorney was very clear in saying that he and his client plan to fight this case to the end, with Burke Jr. even stating that Timberlake was not intoxicated when he was arrested.

Timberlake’s “The Forget Tomorrow” world tour, which he reportedly mentioned during his arrest, is still ongoing, which is why Timberlake did not appear in person in court on Friday.
