Don Lemon sues Elon Musk for fraud after the failure of the X deal

Mr. Lemon is taking legal action against Elon Musk after his X-rated show was unceremoniously cancelled after one episode… he now claims he was never properly paid.

The veteran journalist sued the tech company’s CEO on Thursday, alleging that EM refused to pay him after their deal fell through. According to the documents, obtained by TMZ, Elon made a verbal promise to pay DL $1.5 million a year to make videos for X… as a way to attract dwindling advertisers.

Don claims he was also promised a share of advertising revenue and other cash incentives if his presence on X (formerly Twitter) grew, but Don claims Elon reneged on that agreement… which Don believes violates the law.

Although Don says in the documents that he did not have a written contract, he claims that Elon assured him over the phone about all of these alleged promises and allegedly said that he would continue to financially support DL… even if he didn’t like the content.

However, as those familiar with the saga well know… this agreement soon fell apart after a disastrous interview between Don and Elon (Don’s first official project with X), where the Tesla CEO responded poorly to questions about drug use and politics.

However, Don claims that his future at X had already been threatened before the interview with Elon.

Don alleges that he was pressured to announce his new collaboration with X at CES, a famous technology conference in Las Vegas. DL claims that their agreement would be revoked if he did not attend the conference alongside X’s CEO. Linda Yaccarino.

Don’s lawyer, Carney ShegerianIt says this… “X executives used Don to prop up their advertising sales pitch, then terminated their partnership and dragged Don’s name through the mud.” Don is suing for fraud, negligent misrepresentation, misappropriation of name and likeness, breach of contract, and other causes of action. He is asking for damages.
