Diogo Dalot sends five-word Manchester United message as Joshua Zirkzee shares wordless response

Diogo Dalot is one of four Manchester United players happy to be home after returning to Carrington for pre-season training.

Alejandro Garnacho, Altay Bayindir, Bruno Fernandes and Dalot were the quartet back on Friday. They joined summer signing Joshua Zirkzee, who has been building up his fitness in Manchester since Monday rather than flying out to the United States for the final two friends of the club’s pre-season tour.

Steve McClaren oversaw their returns after the departing first-team coach did not travel Stateside after having a foot operation. The players involved have since shared their reactions to being back on social media.

Dalot shared four photos of himself working at Carrington, including one showing him sitting on an exercise bike alongside Zirkzee. The returning Portugal international captioned the Instagram post: “Home again. Let’s do this!”

After tagging Zirkzee in the third photo, his new teammate shared the post on his story but did not add a comment. Fernandes shared a similar sentiment to his compatriot, captioning his post: “Back home.” Both punctuated their posts with a red heart emoji.

The captain also shared a post of himself and Garnacho laughing while embracing as they walked out onto the training pitch. Tagging his teammate, he commented little tone, which means silly in Portuguese. Garnacho later replied on his story: “Captain”.

In a separate post, Garancho shared three photos of himself on the training pitches, accompanied by the caption: “No place like home.” Bayindir also showed some love to his skipper, sharing a photo of him embracing Fernandes inside the gym and adding the caption: “My Hermano.”

Translating the comment from Spanish, the captain shared the post on his story while replying: “Brother.” Expect more posts on Monday, as Erik ten Hag confirmed on Thursday that Lisandro Martinez will return to Carrington at the start of next week.
