CT Weather: Up To 2 Inches Of Rain Forecast, Wet Snow Too

CONNECTICUT — We need the rain, and it now looks like we’ll receive more than initially expected, and many folks will also get a chance to see their first snowflakes of the season too.

The National Weather Service is now showing in its latest updates that a widespread 1.5 to 2 inches of rain is forecast to fall on Thursday through Friday morning. Some thunderstorms may also mix in too.

WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said a storm system “will enhance the potential for moderate to heavier rain Thursday. At the same time, an onshore wind will intensify, with wind gusts over 30 mph possible. Given this wind direction, we’ll have to monitor the threat for coastal flooding along our shoreline (however, the timing of high tide may work in our favor, to limit the overall threat). With moderate/severe drought conditions across CT, we certainly need rain.”

“Friday is now also a First Alert Weather Day as the storm system bringing us the unsettled weather Thursday will be slow to depart. As we close out the week and colder air filters our way, we expect scattered rain showers with wet snow mixing in across the higher terrain of W & NW CT. Highs will only be in the mid to upper 40s, but with the breeze it will feel chillier!” said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. (Read/watch more at WFSB 3 TV).
