Production for the final episodes began in May, confirmed by Paramount on May 20, 2024. Filming was largely completed by early August, with a wrap party held on September 7, 2024.

Yellowstone’s original plans included more seasons, but with Kevin Costner’s departure, the show’s creators decided to conclude with Season 5.

Kevin Costner will not appear in the final episodes, as he announced his departure from the series after a long-standing commitment to his film project, Horizon.Rumors suggest Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly and Luke Grimes will join the upcoming spin-off The Madison. Jefferson White, who portrays Jimmy, may also appear in Season 5 Part 2 after being seen with the cast during production.

Where to Watch

The first episode of Part 2 will air on Paramount Network and CBS on November 10, 2024. It will also be available on streaming service Peacock, with CBS airing at 10 pm ET/PT, two hours after Paramount Network’s debut.
