Vehicles Push Through Intense Rain as Tornadic Storms Batter Cleveland

Heavy rain, hail and powerful gusts reaching 80 mph lashed the Greater Cleveland area, amid severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings on Tuesday, August 6.

The National Weather Service reported a number of radar-indicated and observed tornadoes across northeast Ohio.

Footage recorded by Cleveland resident Matt Shiffler shows motorists battling through heavy downpours, and the city’s North Coast Harbor skyline engulfed by mist.
