Thursday Night Football, Week 9: Jets try to right their ship against Texans

This evening, the NFL gets week 9 underway on Halloween night. Unfortunately for the New York Jets, the first eight games of the season have been a horror movie, as the team is just 2-6 and has already fired its head coach and traded for another one of Aaron Rodgers’ favorite receiving targets.

Tonight, they get a chance to try to get back on track, but they will have to face a 6-2 Houston Texans team that leads the AFC South by two games. The Texans may be a bit of a paper tiger, however; they have an overall point differential of just +9 and only one of their six wins has come with a margin of more than six points.

Adding to the concerns around the Texans is the fact that they recently lost another wide receiver to injury. Stefon Diggs is now out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL, while Nico Collins remains out for at least one more week. That will leave the team with Tank Dell and a host of no-names and journeymen to catch passes from CJ Stroud against a very solid Jets defense.

At least partially due to the Texans’ offensive issues, the Jets are favored this evening at home. Join us for tonight’s game to see if the spooky season continues for Gang Green.
