Michigan State Spartans football vs. Indiana Hoosiers

Touchdown, MSU!

Y’all, Nick Marsh is incredible. An unbelievable touchdown catch from the freshman puts the Spartans up 10-0 early. Chiles looks good too, completing 7 of his 11 throws for over 100 yards and a touchdown. He is also the leading rusher, including a key first down run on third down. 2:39 remains in the first quarter.

Three and out, part 2

Michigan State came to play on defense. This stop was aided by a third down drop, but it’s another three and out. Offense back up.

Chiles to Marsh sets up a Kim FG

Nick Marsh is a stud. That isn’t new news, but he is legit. A highlight third down grab for 33 yards moved the chains for the Spartans, and Aziah Johnson and Montorie Foster got in on the act as well, setting up a 47-yard field goal by Jonathan Kim.

three and out

Alot has been made about Indiana quarterback Kurtis Rourke and his injured thumb. Tough to tell how he is on that first drive, but it’s a three and out. Offense up first.

Defense up first for Spartans

First place Hoosiers vs Michigan State in East Lansing. Beautiful.

Michigan State begins the last third of its season at home against undefeated Indiana.

After a loss to rival Michigan last week, the Spartans (4-4, 2-3 Big Ten) need to win two of their final four games to gain bowl eligibility, something the program hasn’t accomplished since 2021. It helps that three of the remaining four games are in East Lansing.

The final stretch kicks off against an Indiana team that’s in the middle of a historic season. Ranked No. 13 in the country, the Hoosiers are off to an 8-0 start, the first time they have done that since 1967. The Hoosiers have never won 10 games in a single season and look to have the talent to do that under first-year coach Curt Cignetti.

Michigan State will look to spoil Indiana’s perfect season and maintain possession of the Old Brass Spittoon, the trophy awarded to the winner of this matchup.
