Lil Wayne’s notebook of lyrics sells for $5 million after legal dispute

Little Wayne‘s lyric notebook is officially up for sale with a hefty price tag… after a years-long saga to determine ownership that finally concluded earlier this year.

TMZ has learned… the ’90s rapper’s notebook is being offered for $5 million… five years after it was first listed for $250,000.

Moments in timeThe company that officiated the sale defended the steep markup to TMZ… saying Lil Wayne is one of the greatest rappers of all time, making his handwritten liner notes incredibly valuable.

However, the price is not the only thing that stands out about this notebook. Remember, TMZ published the news… Moments in time caused a sensation in 2019 while attempting to sell the notebook on behalf of a man who claims to have found LW’s former property in a car once owned by Cash Money Records.

Lil Wayne objected and He demanded that his job be returned to him …and their lawyers sent a cease and desist letter to Moments in Time, saying they had no right to sell the lyrics. They also accused the guy who found the notebook of lying and waiting for the opportune moment to profit.

The guy fought back, arguing that “finders keepers” and asked the court to say that he was now the rightful owner and that Wayne needed to stop trying to intimidate him. Despite all the fuss, Lil Wayne didn’t even bother to respond… so the court ruled against the rapper.
