Kobbie Mainoo makes shock Man United pre-season tour move

Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo dropped in to see his Red Devils teammates before they flew to South Carolina on Friday in a surprise pre-season link up.

The England international is currently out on holiday in Los Angeles and has kept its distance from the pre-season training camp, despite being in the same Californian city. Mainoo is enjoying a well-earned break after helping the Three Lions reach the Euro 2024 Final earlier this summer, but he couldn’t resist popping in to see his team-mates, according to the Daily Mail.

The highly rated midfielder watched United’s final training session at the University of California campus as Erik Ten Hag’s side prepared for their final pre-season tour test against Liverpool.

Mainoo caught up with the rest of the squad after the session and is set to return to United training next week when they return to England. He’ll be joining the rest of United’s international contingent – Luke Shaw, Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Alejandro Garnacho, Lisandro Martinez, Altay Bayindir and Facundo Pellistri – who were in action for their country this summer at the Euro’s and Copa America respectively.

The Red Devils take on Premier League rivals Liverpool in the early hours of the morning in their final pre-season fixture before returning to competitive action next weekend. They’ll take on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Community Shield before hosting Fulham at Old Trafford in the Premier League curtain raiser on Friday, August 16.
