Fans, celebrities converge for annual Rhode Island Comic Con

Lights, Camera, Providence!

Pop culture fans from across the region and around the country made their way to Providence for the 2024 edition of Rhode Island Comic Con.

“I can say Rhode Island is the best Comic Con Ever,” Henry Beldon, better known as the voice of Morty Smith from “Rick and Morty,” told NBC10.

“Rick loves being at (Rhode Island Comic Con),” Ian Cardoni, Beldon’s co-star on “Rick and Morty” added.

This year’s event showscasing some of the biggest names in Hollywood.

“In our business, we don’t get to have one on ones,” explained Steven Michael Quezada of “Breaking Bad.” “At Comic Con we get to shake hands and thank people for being fans.”

The stars shining in the smallest state.

“This is a massive show. I can’t believe it is so big, but everybody has been so incredibly kind,” Mara Wilson, the star of the 1996 classic “Matilda” said.

Familiar faces from your favorite cult classics, blockbusters, and primetime television shows all gathering at the Rhode Island Convention Center for Comic Con 2024.

“It’s going great!” Dean Norris of “Breaking Bad” continued. “I love it here. I love Providence.”

Among the guests at this year’s Comic Con: actor David Arquette (“Scream” franchise), actor Ernie Hudson (starred in the original “Ghostbusters”), actor Giancarlo Esposito (“Breaking Bad”), actress Helen Hunt (“As Good as It Gets” and “Mad About You”), comedian John Cleese (“Monty Python”), dancer and influencer JoJo Siwa, actor Matthew Lillard (“Scream” and “Scooby Doo”), actor Skeet Ulrich (“Scream” and ” Riverdale”), and actor William Shatner (“Star Trek”).

The three-day event has attracted super fans by the thousands, with many attendees decked out in head-to-toe costumes.

Hours of preparation and dedication, all put on display to pay homage to some of this generations greatest onscreen characters.

“I spent my entire career on Blues Clues imagining you,” Steve Burns, from original series “Blue’s Clues” concluded. “But now I get to meet you and that is uniquely wonderful for me.”

Closing night for Rhode Island Comic Con is Sunday, November 3.
