Dylan Guenther, Cole Perfetti Due For Big Games in Wednesday Best Bets

Wednesday has a compact slate of NHL action with six games featuring 12 teams that are looking for a crucial win. The Winnipeg Jets look to bounce back following their first loss of the season when they take on the Red Wings in Detroit while the night caps off with the Devils looking to get past the high-flying Canucks.

Our picks have continued to stay hot as of late with a 13-7 record over our last 20 picks. We look to stay on Hump Day and nail some more picks.

Bet: Flames Utah HC Over 6.0 goals (-120), Dylan Guenther Over 0.5 points (-130)

Both the Flames and Utah are looking for a big win on Wednesday as they’ve lost three and four games in a row respectively. Utah was surprised in their last home game when they blew a 4-1 lead to give the last place San Jose Sharks their first win of the season.

The overtime loss was devastating and was one they will work extra hard to rebound from but it will be challenging against Calgary. The Flames have a 10-1-1 record against the former-Arizona Coyotes with four of their last five matchups totaling seven or more goals.

Utah’s brand new fan base is very loud at home and will help the Hockey Club get some momentum but they will need to fix their defensive woes. They’ve allowed 17 goals over five home games and the Flames have a 2-1-1 record on the road this season.

Calgary will need to slow down Utah’s Dylan Guenther, who excels at home with three goals in five games. The 21-year-old potential breakout star has six goals and a pair of assists for eight points over ten games this season.

He should keep Utah in the game with a few differences making enough plays to make the over feel like a solid play but not give us a lean on either side of the moneyline.

Bet: Jets Red Wings Under 6.0 goals (-105), Cole Perfetti Over 0.5 points (+130)

The Jets had their season opening winning streak snapped on Monday when they lost 6-4 to the Maple Leafs, who they had a bad history against. They look to rebound in a favorable matchup against the Red Wings. Winnipeg has beaten Detroit in eight of their last 11 matchups and the Red Wings have lost two straight games heading into Wednesday.

The biggest concern for the Red Wings is who their starting goaltender will be. They still don’t have a clear answer with Alex Lyon doing well with a 2.05 goals against average but has also lost three of his five starts this season. The biggest advantage the Jets have had to start the season is their depth scoring with almost all three of their top lines contributing.

Their second line of Cole Perfetti, Vladislav Namestnikov and Nikolaj Ehlers had struggled to start the season but over their last six games they’ve improved significantly with nine goals combined. Perfetti and Ehlers have both found their groove as they are both tied with nine points over their hot six-game stretch.

Ehlers looks like he should be dialed in Wednesday as he’s recorded four goals and four assists for eight points over his last five matchups versus Detroit. Perfetti should benefit off his linemates play and record at least a point.

The Jets have the best goals against average in the league dating back to last season with 2.42 and should keep this one low-scoring.
