American fencer Nick Itkin says there are “good vibes” in the Olympic Village despite rumours

Coco Gauff and Emilia Chatfield He may not like the Olympic Village, but the American fencer… Nick Itkin He says he’s having a great time in Paris… telling TMZ Sports There have been “good vibes” since he landed with his fellow athletes.

We spoke to the right-handed foil fencer this week… fresh from big names like Gauff, a Team USA tennis star, who revealed that her teammates were leaving the town because of their living conditions, i.e. crowded bathrooms.

Haitian hurdler Chatfield also criticised the athletes’ residential area… claiming the cafeteria was simply not up to par.

Well, Itkin, who won her second bronze medal at the Paris Games, disagrees… at least when it comes to how she feels about it.

“I had a good experience, I’ve been here for a while now,” Itkin said of the Olympic Village. “There’s a good vibe there.”

“It’s a great time and a special place where people from all over the world can come together and watch them compete for a goal.”

Itkin’s “anti-sex” bed at OV must be comfortable, too… because he told us he’s been sleeping with his new bronze medal every night since winning the men’s individual foil competition against Japan. Kazuki Iimura on Monday.

“I haven’t taken it off since,” Itkin said. “I sleep with this on! I’m soaking it all in right now.”

However, Itkin wants a medal of a different color at the 2028 Olympics — namely gold — and he’s excited about the prospect of winning in front of his family and friends in his hometown of Los Angeles, California.

In fact, Nick lives just a few blocks from UCLA (where the Village will be) and is debating whether he wants to stay on campus or sleep in his own bed.
