Curt Cignetti says Indiana football doubters can kick rocks

Put a microphone in front of Curt Cignetti, and the IU football coach tends to deliver. Roughly 90 minutes prior to his No. 5-ranked Hoosiers kick off against No. 2 Ohio State in the biggest game in IU history, Cignetti talked with ESPN inside the stadium.

“This is just a football game, right? Sixty minutes between the white lines. We’ve got a veteran group, right. We earned the right to be here. There’s no magic wand. We’ve got the largest victory scoring margin in college football, right? There’s a narrative out there that’s created another chip for us. People can stick that narrative up their you know what.”

Critics have taken shots at IU’s strength of schedule, which is among the lowest for a power conference team. The 10-0 Hoosiers have a shot today to silence some of those doubters versus the Buckeyes.

Kickoff is at noon. Follow our live blog for instant updates and analysis.
