BTS star Suga loses license after driving electric scooter while drunk

BTS star sugar His driver’s license was revoked over a drunk driving scandal… though the vehicle he was driving has raised questions.

Suga’s record label, Big Hit Music, confirmed that the singer was arrested on Tuesday night… sharing that the boy band member was arrested after falling while parking an “electric skateboard.” Suga was spotted by a police officer in Hannam-dong in the Yongsan district of central Seoul, South Korea, and asked to take a breathalyzer test… which he failed.

His license has since been revoked and he has been fined for the incident.

Now, before you start Googling “What is an electric scooter?”… it’s apparently a type of seatless vehicle. According to the Associated Press, police told local media that the vehicle Suga was riding looked more like an electric scooter… hence the DUI penalty.

Suga has since apologized for his behavior… and shared a somber update on Weverse.

He wrote… “I am writing to you with great regret and deep apologies for having disappointed you with this unfortunate incident. I complacently thought it was a short distance, not realising that I was not allowed to drive the electric scooter while intoxicated, thus breaking the traffic law.”

His label also issued an apology, telling fans that Suga plans to accept “any disciplinary measures.”

Suga is currently on mandatory military service… working as a social service agent since September last year. The Military Manpower Administration told AP that the drunk driving incident will not affect Suga’s work as an agent… as the incident occurred off-duty.
