Heathrow Airport and London Paddington services disrupted amid urgent track repairs

An emergency services incident that caused disruption to trains towards Gatwick Airport has been cleared and services have returned to normal.

But passengers attempting to get to London’s major airport by Great Western Rail services face disruption, after a track fault near Southall also hit trains heading to Heathrow.

The Heathrow Express between Heathrow Terminal 5 and London Paddington is also disrupted, as are Elizabeth Line services.

Several Tube lines also have severe and minor delays and part closures.

Delays across entire Piccadilly Line

There are severe delays on the Piccadilly Line between Acton Town and Uxbridge/Heathrow Terminals due to an earlier signaling problem. There are minor delays on the rest of the line.

Severe delays on Metropolitan Line

DLR part-suspended after customer incident

There is no service on the DLR between Tower Gateway and Shadwell while TfL deals with a customer incident at Tower Gateway. There is a good service on the rest of the DLR.

Tube disruption

There are minor delays on the Jubilee and Piccadilly lines and severe delays on the Metropolitan line due to a sginal failure at Wembley Park.

Disruption between Reading and Heathrow, Paddington to last all day

Urgent repairs to the track in the Southall area means some lines are blocked, National Rail said.

As a result of this, trains running between Reading and Heathrow Airport and London Paddington may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

It affects Great Western Railway, Heathrow Express and Elizabeth line services.

Lins reopen between Reading and Gatwick Airport

The emergency services have completed their work between Reading and Winnersh and all lines have reopened.

Trains that were earlier disrupted between Reading at Gatwick Airport are now able to run as scheduled, National Rail said.

Points failure hits mainline trains

A points failure is delaying Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern trains from Euston, National Rail has said.

It means trains have to run at reduced speed on some lines, so some services may be canceled or delayed by up to 20 minutes.

The affected routes are: Avanti West Coast between London Euston and Birmingham New Street / Chester / Holyhead / Liverpool Lime Street / Manchester Piccadilly / Blackpool North / Glasgow Central / Edinburgh

London Northwestern Railway between London Euston and Tring; and also between London Euston and St Albans Abbey / Milton Keynes Central / Birmingham New Street / Crewe.

Disruption is expected until 4pm.

Canary Wharf Tube station closed after man’s ‘fall from height’

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a “fall from height” at Canary Wharf Tube station.

Westbound Jubilee Line trains were not stopping at Canary Wharf Tube station, which was reportedly evacuated, but the station has now fully reopened.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 12.50pm today to reports of a person fallen from height at Canary Wharf Underground Station.

“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer and members of our hazardous area response team (HART).

“We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma center.”

A British Transport Police spokesperson told the man sustained serious injuries. They said the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

Jubilee and Metropolitan delays continue

Severe delays are continuing on the Jubilee and Metropolitan Lines after a signal failure.

The fault at Wembley Park has now been fixed, but both lines are still reporting severe delays.

TfL had earlier urged passengers to avoid the Jubilee Line if possible due to the disruption.

Emergency incident halts Gatwick Airport trains

An emergency services incident has halted South Western Railway services to Gatwick Airport.

The incident between Reading and Winnersh means all lines are closed.

Trains will be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 60 minutes, says National Rail.

Affected are SWR services between Reading and Gatwick Airport and Great Western Railway services between Reading and London Waterloo.

Disruption is expected until 4pm.

Disruption on Elizabeth Line expected to last all day

This includes the Elizabeth Line, although TfL is not currently reporting any delays.

Severe delays on Metropolitan Line

The Metropolitan Line has severe delays because of the same signal fault at Wembley Park which is causing issues with the Jubilee Line.

The line has no service between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Aldgate as engineers work to fix the issue.

Avoid Jubilee Line, commuters told

Commuters are being told to avoid the Jubilee Line after a signal failure caused severe delays.

There is no service between Neasden and Stanmore due to a signal failure at Wembley Park.

There are also severe delays on the rest of the line.

TfL has told passengers in a message: “Avoid the line where possible.”

Heathrow trains hit by Elizabeth Line track failure

Commuters are being warned of disruption on the Elizabeth Line until the end of the day due to track failure in west London.

Trains running between Reading / Heathrow Airport and London Paddington may be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised.

This is causing delays on the Elizabeth Line.

Great Western Railway and Heathrow Express services are also disrupted.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Overground and Southern services affected as police respond to track casualty

The emergency services are responding to a casualty on the track between Peckham Rye and Surrey Quays / London Bridge.

While they do their work, all lines are blocked.

It means on the Overground, trains will not run between Clapham Junction and Surrey Quays.

Southern Rail services are currently unable to run on the line via South Bermondsey, meaning London Bridge to East Croydon or Beckenham Junction services will be canceled until further notice.

Disruption is expected until 12noon.
