This was the chaotic scene left behind after a dramatic four car crash on a street in Newton Heath that left one car on its side and others severely damaged.

One car was pictured flipped onto its side, while another was shown with its windows and windscreen smashed, with a third seen with its boot torn open and bonnet crushed, following the collision on Briscoe Lane this morning (Sunday). There are unconfirmed reports that one of the cars involved crashed through the gates of a nearby church.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were all called out to the scene in the early hours of this morning. No injuries were reported following the crash.
