ITV Emmerdale viewers double take as they spot ‘new Dingle family member’ in village

Emmerdale fans were stunned when they spotted a ‘new Dingle family member’ making an unexpected appearance.

The beloved Dingles have been going through some particularly tough times in the show lately, and tensions are set to escalate further with Samson (portrayed by Sam Hall) staring down the possibility of a hefty jail sentence looming on next week’s schedule.

The troubled youth found himself in jeopardy after admitting he was stabbed by Matty (played by Ash Palmisciano). Audiences will remember how last month’s drama unfolded, with Samson alongside delinquent Josh Cope (Osian Morgan) plotting a heist at The Hide.

Their ill-fated escape saw them menacing Matty, but in a shocking turn of events, Josh inadvertently propelled Samson towards Matty, who was wielding a kitchen knife, resulting in Samsons stabbing.

Subsequently, both Josh and Samson falsely accused Matty of intentionally inflicting the injury which led to Matty’s wrongful imprisonment.

Eventually, Samson owned up to the truth, exonerating Matty but still withheld the involvement of ruffian Josh out of fear, reports the Express. Next week he promises to be critical for Samson as he faces his plea hearing ahead of the trial.

However, during Thursday’s episode (August 1), what truly captured viewers’ attention was the unforeseen appearance of a dog, thought to be a new member of the Dingle clan. In the episode, Samson was seen taking the family pooch out for a walk downstairs.

Yet, fans were abuzz with curiosity over this canine, with many claiming it hadn’t been seen for a long time.

The speculation quickly took to social media, with one viewer posting on an Emmerdale Facebook fan group: “Where did that Dingle dog spring from? I’ve not seen it in ages.”

Someone else responded directly on the platform, revealing: “That’s Monty, Zack rescued him.” But another countered: “Seems to me to be a different dog. Emmerdale just isn’t consistent these days.”

Further dialogue came when one person added: “Wonder where he’s not been in it for ages, he’s just appeared out of nowhere but I’m glad he’s back.” Meanwhile, a fifth individual observed: “He looks like a different dog.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
